Start your day by whizzing through Glasgow - stop by for lunch in the West End - before heading out to the awe inspiring Loch Lomond. You can now take one of the best drives in the UK from Loch Lomond up to Glen Coe and spend the night at the campsite in Glen Coe with the fabulous Clachaig Inn round the corner for some well earned beers (and whiskies).

The next day spend some time outdoors but also take your time driving up past Fort William and Fort Augustus right through to Inverness. Again this drive is magnificient and you will drive past the legendary Loch Ness, some beautiful scenery and interesting villages - make sure when you are in Fort William that you visit Ben Nevis (even if you don’t climb it) and pop into the Ben Nevis Inn for a wee dram!

If you arrive at Inverness early in the day, head a little further south to Aviemore which is a fine place to spend the evening -try the Old Bridge Inn, a characterful pub full of friendly people and good food. On the third day you’ll find yourself in the Cairngorms National Park (if you stayed in Aviemore last night) which has heaps of things to do including dog sledding and cross country skiing, and you could take a small diversion here off towards Braemar and the Royal residence of Balmoral, be sure to also check out the distillery round the back of the castle! Then make your final pitstop at the lovely town of Pitlochry in stunning Perthshire. Edinburgh is a short 1.5 hour drive back the next day so be sure to take your time enjoying the Scottish scenery.
